Biography

AS A JUNIOR IN 2009
Third on the team with a .284 batting average, 18 RBIs and 17 runs scored … second on the team with a .396 slugging percentage and three home runs … led the squad with six doubles … ranked as the 82nd toughest player in the nation to strikeout, striking out every 14.9 at bats (nine times in 134 at bats) … had two or more hits nine times … started 42 of the team’s 44 games … hit her first home run of the season and drove in a pair against Missouri-Kansas City (Feb. 14) … went 2-for-3 with three runs scored against Sacred Heart (March 8) … finished 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs against Kent State (March 25) … was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI at Morehead State (April 1) … 2008-09 Colonel Scholar.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2008
A stellar sophomore season behind the dish allowed Handley to capture second team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors … hit .312 with seven home runs, 33 RBIs and 27 runs … the only player to start at catcher all season for the Colonels … had a .487 slugging percentage and a .363 on-base percentage … tied for the most runners thrown out attempting to steal (21) in the OVC … second on the team in home runs, and third on the team in RBIs and slugging percentage … had 11 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI games … went 3-for-3 with two runs scored in the second game of the season, against Kennesaw State (Feb. 15) … went 3-for-4 with three RBIs against Idaho State (March 8) … turned a 2-1 EKU deficit into a 5-2 lead with a grand slam in the sixth inning against Southeast Missouri (March 15) … the next day against the Redhawks, Handley went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs … had three hits in four at bats, scored twice and drove in two against Miami (April 1) … hit a home run and drove in three runs against Jacksonville State (April 5) … went 3-for-3 with a season-high three runs scored against Tennessee-Martin (April 12) … in the second game of the doubleheader against UTM, Handley homered and drove in four runs.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2007
Started 28 games and played in 35 games as a freshman ... finished her first collegiate season with a .184 batting average, seven runs and eight RBIs ... threw out two would-be base stealers ... scored a pair of runs against Charlotte on Feb. 17 ... went 2-for-3 with a run scored and one driven in against Southeast Missouri (April 1) ... scored twice while going 2-for-4 at Wright State (April 4).

HIGH SCHOOL
Played four years of varsity softball … three-time all-league first team honoree … named to the 2006 North/South All-Star team … twice honored as the team’s Offensive Player of the Year … served as team captain … posted a batting average of .344 in her senior campaign … earned Scholar-Athlete honors all four years … also played volleyball for three years.
