Biography

The Book on Coy – Will be called on to be a team leader in 2008 … plays wide open and is relentless in his approach to the game … has shown flashes of being a dominant player … one of the top defensive ends in the OVC. 

At EKU – 2007: First team all-conference selection … started all 12 games at defensive end … led the OVC with eight sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss … finished with two sacks at Jacksonville State (Sept. 22) and Murray State (Oct. 27) … registered a career-best seven tackles in the playoff game at Richmond … posted at least five tackles in four other contests … recovered a fumble and tallied three quarterback hurries in the win over TTU on Nov. 17. 2006: Saw action in 10 of 11 games … made first career start at Samford on Oct. 7 … twice tallied a season-best five tackles – versus Western Kentucky and at Tennessee Tech … finished with two tackles and a quarterback hurry against Jacksonville State on Sept. 30 … chipped in with two tackles in three other contests. 2005: Played in all 11 games while registering at least one tackle in 10 contests … first collegiate sack came in the win over Jacksonville State … finished with a season-high six tackles against the Gamecocks … came away with two quarterback hurries versus Tennessee Tech … notched five tackles, four of which were solo, at Murray State on Nov. 5. 2004: Took a redshirt season … was the 2004 Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year. 

High School – A two-time All-Western Kentucky Conference performer … 2003 Defensive Player of the Year by WHRZ … 2002 Western Kentucky East All-Star game participant … two-time all-district award recipient … tallied over 150 tackles as a senior … also participated in powerlifting and track and field … was part of the 2001 state powerlifting team champions, deadlifting over 600 pounds, benching over 340 pounds and squatting over 450 pounds.
