2010 (Junior): Finished the season third on the team with 23 appearances … walked only 10 and struck out 24 in 39 innings of work … picked up his lone win of the season against his former school the University of the Cumberlands, going three innings and allowing two runs on two hits while striking out one (April 20) … got the start against BIG EAST opponent West Virginia and picked up a no-decision, going 4.2 innings and allowing seven runs on nine hits while striking out three (April 13) … delivered his best performance out of the bullpen against conference foe Murray State when he went 2.2 innings and allowed no runs on one hit with one strikeout (May 8)

2009 (Sophomore): Serving primarily as a relief pitcher, was third on the team with 21 appearances … picked up his first career win against IPFW, going 1.1 scoreless innings and allowing just one hit (Feb. 27) … also picked up wins against Vermont (March 11) and conference opponent Southeast Missouri (May 8) … delivered arguably his best performance of the season against Connecticut, going three innings while allowing just one earned run and striking out three in the Colonels’ win (March 13) … possesses excellent control as he walked only nine batters in 30 innings of work and was one of only two pitchers on staff not to throw a wild pitch.

2008 (Freshman): Played at the University of the Cumberlands.

High School Accomplishments: Recorded 63 strikeouts in only 56 innings of work his senior year at Western Hills High School ... also recorded three saves ... named honorable mention academic all-state from 2004-06 ... earned the team’s “Most Victories Award” in 2005 and 2006 ... named all-county and all-district tournament in 2006.

Personal: Born Aug. 21, 1987 ... son of Harper and Lisa Smith ... majoring in occupational science.
