At EKU –
2009: Started all 11 games on the defensive line … posted a season-high five tackles in three different games … notched five stops and a forced fumble on Indiana’s opening possession on Sept. 3 … followed up with five tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss, in the win over Tennessee Tech on Sept. 19 … tallied four stops and a sack in the home finale against Western Carolina.
2008: Played in all 12 games with three starts at defensive end … tied for the team lead with seven quarterback hurries … earned his first career start on Sept. 6 versus Western Kentucky … piled up six tackles and two quarterback hurries against the Hilltoppers … chipped in with five stops, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery against Morehead State on Sept. 13 … notched two tackles for loss in the season opener at Cincinnati on Aug. 28.
2007: Saw time on the field in 10 of 12 contests … notched multiple tackles in four games … piled up a season-high three tackles against Samford on Sept. 29 … added a stop in the playoff game at Richmond.
2006: Took a redshirt season.
High School – Earned the 2005 Donnie Shell Defensive Player of the Year award in North Carolina … also named the Roman Gabriel Student-Athlete of the Year in North Carolina … first team all-conference and all-county … ranked among the top 100 defensive ends/linebackers in the country by Rivals.com … 73 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 22 hurries and 12 tackles for loss as a senior … A/B Honor Roll all four years.
