2009 (Junior): A versatile pitcher who led the team with two saves and was third on the team with eight games started … pitched 6.1 strong innings against Bowling Green State, allowing just one earned run and six hits while striking out two batters (March 8) …notched his first save of the season three days later when he recorded the final out against Vermont (March 11) … pitched his finest game of the season two days later against BIG EAST opponent Connecticut when he started and pitched three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three batters to earn the win (March 13) … delivered his best conference performance of the season at Austin Peay, when he got the start and went eight full innings while surrendering just two runs and striking out four batters (March 21) … did not pitch past April 4 due to injuries.
2008 (Sophomore): Did not allow a run in his first five outings of the season (8.1 innings) … finished the season with a 4.11 ERA … third on the staff with 19 appearances … allowed only nine walks in 30.2 innings of work … held opposing hitters to a .254 batting average … pitched three scoreless innings without allowing a hit against Marshall (April 15) … followed that up with a performance at Jacksonville State in which he threw 2.1 innings and only gave up one run on two hits while striking out two batters …four days later, he pitched 2.1 scoreless innings at Miami (Ohio) University, allowing just three hits and striking out two batters.
2007 (Freshman): Finished the season with a 4.93 ERA … made 18 appearances with three starts … pitched 45.2 innings … pitched two innings of one-hit, no-run baseball against Berea College (March 7) … pitched five innings of five-hit, one-run baseball in the win over Marshall University (April 24) … against cross-state rival Louisville, Hord pitched two innings of one-hit, no-run baseball (March 21).
High School Accomplishments: A standout pitcher at Lafayette High School in Lexington ... as a senior, he went 5-2 with 1.37 ERA and 72 strikeouts ... earned all-city and all-district honors and was also named team MVP ... in 2005, Hord went 4-1 with a 1.30 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched as a junior ... he allowed only one earned run during his four wins, and did not allow a single earned run during his final three starts ... his strong performance on the mound earned Hord a spot on the Lexington Herald-Leader’s all-city team.
Personal: Born April 4, 1988 ... son of Chuck and Melia Hord and K.C. and Kristi Wallace ... earned a bachelor's degree in marketing in the spring of 2010 ... currently working towards a master's degree in sports management.

What has been the biggest highlight of your EKU career: Throwing three times in Florida during spring break of 2009 and earning a no decision, a save and a win all in one week.
Plans after baseball: I plan on pursing a career in sports marketing, maybe working for a professional team. I also plan on becoming a high school baseball coach at some point.
