2011 Scouting Report – One of the top playmakers in the Ohio Valley Conference … has shown glimpses of greatness at corner back … will return kicks and punts again as a senior.
At EKU –
2010: Saw action in every game with eight starts at corner back … sat out most of the season opener while recovering from sports hernia surgery … scored touchdowns on kick-off returns against Southeast Missouri (Oct. 23) and Jacksonville State (Nov. 6), a punt return against Austin Peay (Nov. 20), and an interception return against Louisville (Sept. 11) … ranked second nationally and set a new EKU single season record in kick-off return average (33.7 yards per return) … twice named OVC Specialist of the Week – Nov. 7 and Nov. 21 … sealed the win over No. 2 Jacksonville State on Nov. 6 with a fourth quarter interception … forced a fumble, which he then recovered, in the third quarter at UT Martin on Oct. 16 … totaled a season-high nine tackles at Chattanooga on Sept. 18.
2009: Played in 10 games with eight starts at corner back … utilized as a kick and punt returner as well … sat out the Kentucky (Nov. 7) game due to a concussion … tied for fourth nationally with seven interceptions … tied for the team lead with six pass break-ups … named OVC Defensive Player of the Week after picking off two passes in the season opener at Indiana … also returned a punt 40 yards at Indiana in the second quarter which helped set up an EKU field goal right before halftime … named co-OVC Defensive Player of the Week and a College Sporting News National All-Star after tallying two interceptions against Eastern Illinois on Oct. 3 … his second interception at EIU was returned 10 yards for a score in the fourth quarter to give EKU a 36-24 edge … totaled 10 tackles, two interceptions and a pass break-up in the win over UT Martin on Oct. 17.
2008: Played in all 12 games with 10 starts at corner back … tied for the team lead with six pass break-ups … sealed the victory at Southeast Missouri on Nov. 1 with a 66-yard interception returned for a touchdown in the fourth quarter … also tallied an interception in the first quarter of the NCAA playoff game at Richmond on Nov. 29 … finished with a season-high 10 tackles in the season opener at Cincinnati on Aug. 28 … returned the opening kick-off 62 yards to set up a touchdown against Austin Peay on Sept. 27 … recorded six tackles, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery against Eastern Illinois on Oct. 25.
2007: Took a redshirt season.
High School – 2006 Associated Press all-state selection … 2006 all-state pick by the Tennessee Football Coaches Association (TFCA) … three time all-region player … 2006 Region 4-4A Special Teams Player of the Year … 2006 Region 4-4A Defensive Player of the Year … returned nine kicks for a touchdown as a prepster … tallied 41 tackles, 12 pass break-ups, three interceptions (two returned for scores) and two PAT blocks in 2006.
