Biography

AS A JUNIOR IN 2013
Named pre-season All-Ohio Valley Conference … appeared in 56 games while starting 54, 23 at first base … also split time at third base and in the designated hitter spot … posted a .302 average … recorded 65 hits and drove in 40 runs … led team with 17 doubles … knocked seven home runs … hit two home runs in win against Jacksonville State (May 12) … recorded 18 multiple-hit games … ended season with a 12-game hitting streak … selected to OVC All-Tournament team … played for the North Adams SteepleCats in the New England Collegiate Baseball League during the summer 2013 … earned a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll … 2012-13 Colonel Scholar.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2012
Played in 53 games and started 52 times, 50 of which came at third base … hit .266 with 14 home runs, 46 RBIs and 30 runs scored … had a .547 slugging percentage … smacked 15 doubles … ranked 23rd in the nation with an average of 0.26 home runs per game … tied for sixth in the OVC in home runs and tied for eighth in RBIs … tied for the team lead with 14 multi-RBI games … went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI against Marshall (March 27) … ws 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs against Eastern Illinois (April 15) … finished 4-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBIs against Ohio (April 24) … played for the North Adams SteepleCats in the New England Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2012 … had five doubles, two home runs and 18 RBIs in 33 games.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2011
Named the OVC Freshman of the Year and a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball following a rookie campaign that saw him bat .310 with nine home runs, a team-best 17 doubles and 40 RBIs … was one of only two Colonels (the other was Richie Rodriguez) to start all 57 games in 2011, providing EKU with middle-of-the-lineup power throughout the season and finishing with a .516 slugging percentage … went 5-for-6 with a double, home run and three RBIs in an early-season win over Western Carolina, but saved his best for conference play, hitting .345 against OVC competition with four doubles, six home runs and 25 RBIs, smashing a pair of three-run home runs in a win over Morehead State on April 16 and batting .545 (6-for-11) with two doubles, two home runs and six RBIs in a three-game set with Southeast Missouri in early April … after watching his batting average dip to a season-low .223 in a March 29 contest with Marshall, Soloman, who was named the OVC Co-Player of the Week on May 2 following a three-game series with Tennessee Tech, hit .440 (33-for-75) with seven home runs over the month of April to galvanize the Colonels to five wins in their last seven conference games and to their second consecutive berth in the OVC Tournament … batted .375 (3-for-8) with a double and two runs scored during the OVC Tournament.

HIGH SCHOOL
Named the 2010 Gatorade and Louisville Slugger New Jersey Player of the Year following a senior season in which he hit .467 with 12 home runs, 38 RBIs, 34 runs scored and nearly set a national record with a home run in nine consecutive games … a two-time preseason Under Armour All-American, he was named the 2010 A-South Hitter of the Year and the 2010 New Jersey Hitter of the Year following his senior season … also earned first team all-state, all-shore, all-division and all-county honors as a senior … won the 2010 Ocean County Sportsmanship Award, the 2010 Bernard Reider Award for Exemplary Sportsmanship and Jackson Memorial High’s 2010 Team MVP Award … a Carpenter Cup selection from 2008-10.
