AS A SENIOR IN 2023-24
Academic All-Atlantic Sun Conference … finished his career as the only player in program history with 1,500 or more points and 900 or more rebounds … was just the fourth player in program history to record 1,400 points and 800 rebounds, joining Nick Mayo (2,316/834), Eddie Bodkin (1,587/812) and Jack Adams (1,460/870) … concluded his career ranked first in program history in 3-pointers made (334) and games played (161), second in rebounds (958), sixth in points (1,631) and eighth in steals (168) … grabbed at least one rebound in every game of his career, 161 straight … played in 31 games and started 29 times … averaged 8.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.90 steals per game … shot 43 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3-point range … was eighth in the ASUN in rebounding, fourth in defensive rebounds (5.26/game) and 12th in 3-pointers per game (2.13) … with an appearance in the game against Prairie View A&M (Nov. 21), he broke the program record of 133 games played set by Eric Stutz (2011-15) … broke EKU’s career 3-pointer record when he dropped in a triple from the right wing with 15:35 left in the game against Bethany (Dec. 10), his 284th career 3-pointer, moving past Matt Witt (2002-06) who had 283 … hit six 3-pointers and scored 18 points at Alabama (Dec. 23), keying a 13-0 run to start the second half, and knocking in a 3-pointer that made it a 15-point game with 15:14 left to play … recorded his second double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds in EKU’s win at Bellarmine (Feb. 17) … hit a season-high seven 3-pointers and finished with a season-best 23 points at Kennesaw State (Feb. 3) ... AS A JUNIOR IN 2022-23
Preseason All-ASUN Conference … voted by fans as the Atlantic Sun Conference Preseason Player of the Year … started all 37 games … averaged 11.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals per game … shot 44 percent from the field and 39 percent from 3-point range … was fourth in the ASUN in 3-point percentage, fifth in rebounding and sixth in 3-point field goals (2.54/game) … ranked 32nd in the nation with 94 three-pointers, 53rd with a 38.5 three-point field goal percentage and 84th with 2.54 three-pointers per game … hit a 3-pointer with 9:50 left in the game against UNC Asheville (Nov. 19) to become the 37th member of EKU’s 1,000-point club … hit 11 three-pointers against Boyce (Dec. 10) and broke the EKU record of 10 set by Glenn Cosey at Eastern Illinois on Jan. 2, 2014 … also set a new program mark with 22 three-point attempts in a game … had a career-high 35 point against Boyce (Dec. 10) … his 11 three-pointers against Boyce (Dec. 10) tied for the most in a game by a D-I player during the 2022-23 season … was chosen as the ASUN Player of the Week on Jan. 16 after averaging 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in two wins, also shot 50 percent from the field and 47 percent from behind the 3-point line … had a season-high 12 rebounds at Lipscomb (Jan. 19) … ASUN Conference Honor Roll.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2021-22
Saw action in all 31 games and started 22 times … averaged 11.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.32 steals per game … shot 44 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range … ranked fourth in the ASUN Conference in offensive rebounds (2.13/game), 10th in steals, 12th in rebounding, 13th in three-pointers per game (2.16) and 17th in scoring … had a double-double against Liberty (Feb. 5), finishing with 16 points and a season-best 10 rebounds … scored a season-high 24 points against North Alabama (Feb. 16) … had a season-high six assists twice, against Midway (Dec. 15) and Alice Lloyd (Dec. 31) … posted a season-best five steals in a game twice, against Eastern Illinois (Nov. 22) and Alice Lloyd (Dec. 31) … also blocked a season-high three shots against Liberty (Feb. 5) … hit on a season-best six 3-pointers at Jacksonville State (Feb. 23) … grabbed an offensive rebound and scored with one second left in regulation to send the game to overtime against North Alabama (Feb. 16) ... voted as the ASUN Preseason Player of the Year by fans ... AS A FRESHMAN IN 2020-21
Appeared in all 29 games and started 28 times … averaged 10.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals … shot 49 percent from the field (108-of-219) and made 46 percent of his attempts from three-point range (64-of-140) … ranked second in the conference in three-point shooting, sixth in three-pointers made per game (2.2) and 13th in field goal percentage … hit 6-of-12 three-point attempts and 10-of-16 from the field overall on his way to a season-best 29 points against Morehead State (Dec. 7) … handed out a season-high five assists at USC Upstate (Dec. 2) … finished with a season-best 11 rebounds and tied a season-high with four steals at Austin Peay (Jan. 2) … also had four steals at Southeast Missouri (Feb. 22) … contributed 14 points and eight rebounds in the conference tournament semifinals against Morehead State (March 5).
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2019-20
Played in all 33 games as a freshman, starting 22 of them … the Colonels won 13 of their 16 games with Moreno in the starting lineup … led the team in rebounding (6.1/game), three-point field goal percentage (34.7%) and double-doubles (four) … averaged 8.6 points and 6.1 rebounds-per-game … was even better during OVC play, averaging 9.7 points and 6.8 rebounds-per-game … his 6.8 rebounds-per-game during conference play led all OVC freshmen … shot 36.2 percent from three-point range during OVC play … came off the bench to hit four three-pointers and lead the team with 14 points vs. No. 2 Kentucky on Nov. 8 … followed that up with a 10-point, 13-rebound performance vs. Ohio Chillicothe on Nov. 12 … posted another double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds) vs. Charleston Southern in December … had 14 points and eight rebounds in a win over SIUE on Jan. 11 … went for 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a big road win at Tennessee State on Jan. 18 … scored 17 points and pulled down seven boards in a road win at Eastern Illinois on Feb. 6 … two days later, had a season-high 18 points to go along with 11 rebounds at SIUE … was voted OVC Freshman of the Week for his weekend performance at EIU and SIUE … had 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists vs. Belmont on Feb. 22 … contributed 14 points and eight rebounds in the season finale win over rival Morehead State on Feb. 29 … posted 10 points and eight boards in the OVC quarterfinals win over Tennessee State on March 5.
HIGH SCHOOL
Moreno put together an incredible career at powerhouse Scott County High in nearby Georgetown ... was a three-time first-team all-state selection and a 2019 Kentucky Mr. Basketball finalist ... scored 2,383 career varsity points and broke a 40-year old Scott County record with 1,317 career rebounds ... added 270 assists, 267 blocks and 211 steals, all while shooting 57 percent from the field and nearly 39 percent from three-point range ... Scott County went 132-18 during Moreno's four years at the school ... helped lead legendary coach Billy Hicks' Cardinals to three straight 11th Region titles (2017-19) and to the KHSAA state title game the past two seasons ... on top of his basketball accolades, Moreno was a 4.0 student at Scott County High School, as well as a member of the Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
