Started seven games … played in 10 contests … finished the season 116-for-221 (52.5 percent) for 1,371 yards … threw seven touchdown passes and nine interceptions … rushed for 280 yards and scored five touchdowns on the ground … went 14-of-20 for 155 yards, threw two touchdown passes and ran for one at Presbyterian (Sept. 21) … had a season-high 313 yards on 19-of-40 throwing with two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown against Tennessee-Martin (Oct. 5) … was 16-of-30 for 256 yards and threw two touchdown passes at Murray State (Oct. 19) … had a season-high 68 rushing yards at Eastern Illinois (Oct. 26) and against Tennessee Tech (Nov. 16) ... earned a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2018
Played in the final three games of the season … started the last two games of the year … maintained his redshirt … finished the season having completed 66 percent of his passes (55-for-84) for 608 yards and one interception … totaled four passing touchdowns and a rushing score … engineered a comeback at Austin Peay (Nov. 3) in his first collegiate appearances, coming into the game with less than six minutes left in the third and EKU trailing 13-10 … finshed 7-for-8 for 89 yards and threw what proved to be the game-winning touchdown on a 20-yard pass with 4:29 left against APSU … was 17-for-34 with a touchdown pass and 186 yards against Robert Morris (Nov. 10) … threw for 333 yards and two touchdown passes while completing 31-of-42 passes without an interception at Tennessee Tech (Nov. 17) in the season finale … also had his first collegiate rushing touchdown against TTU … it was the first time a true freshman quarterback had thrown for 300 or more yards in a game for EKU … his 333 yards against the Golden Eagles were the most by an EKU quarterback since Oct. 15, 2016 … earned honorable mention for STATS National Freshman Player of the Week on Nov. 12 and Nov. 19.
