2007 (SOPHOMORE): A 2007 first-team All-OVC left-handed pitcher…Led the team with a 2.09 ERA…Posted a record of 5-4…Led the team with 14 starts…Led the team in innings pitched with 81.2…Led the team in opponent batting average at .155…Hurled six no-hit innings, striking out seven to lead the team to an 8-1 victory over the Long Island Blackbirds in its 2007 season opener…Threw seven innings of one hit, one run baseball with eight punch outs against SEMO (5/6)…Pitched seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts in a 5-2 victory over Murray State in the OVC tournament (5/24)…Was named a preseason All-American by several publications including Street and Smith magazine and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association…Named to the 2007 Wallach Watch List before the season, an award presented annually to the Division I Baseball Player of the Year…Was also one of 62 pitchers named to the annual Roger Clemens Award, presented to the top college pitcher in America…Went 4-1 with a 2.68 ERA in seven starts this past summer for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball Summer League, notching 52 strikeouts in only 37.0 innings of work…Also started and pitched 5.0 innings of shutout baseball in the second game of the Cape Cod League title series against the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox...Named to Cape Cod League All-Star team.

2006 (FRESHMAN): Named the top prospect in the New England Collegiate Baseball League by Baseball America after going 2-0 with a 1.41 ERA that summer for the Vermont Mountaineers...Allowed only 17 hits and had a strikeout to walk ratio of 36-5 that summer in 32 innings for the Mountaineers...Friedrich also struck out 12 batters in 6.0 innings to lead the Mountaineers to the NECBL title with a 4-1 victory over the Torrington Twisters on August 10...Named to the NECBL North Division All-Star team...Selected NECBL Pitcher of the Week on June 17th...One of 36 players chosen to tryout for USA Baseball National Team...Named a first team Freshman All-American by Baseball America and the Rosenblatt Report...A member of the Collegiate Baseball magazine Freshman All-American listing...Named Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American...Named OVC Freshman of the Year...Earned first-team All-OVC honors...Selected to the OVC All-Freshman team...Went 10-2 in his first year at Eastern and led the conference in ERA (1.98) and strikeouts per game (13), with the latter mark ranking second in the nation...Struck out 118 batters in 82.0 innings of work...Held opponents to a .204 batting average...Hurled the fifth no-hitter in school history and first since 1992 on March 26 against Morehead State...In the no-hitter against Morehead State, he struck out 10, walked one and hit a batter in Eastern’s 1-0 victory...Struck out 11 in a 5-0 victory over Tennessee Tech on April 1...Struck out a career-high 14 in 6.0 innings on May 19 against Austin Peay...Picked up first career win against Oakland on Feb. 29, allowing just one run in 3.0 innings of work and striking out eight...Won the first six decisions of his collegiate career...Allowed two runs in 7.0 innings to pick up the victory in the opening round of the OVC tournament against Austin Peay.

HIGH SCHOOL: Went 8-3 with a 1.73 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 2005…Named 2005 third team all-state and all-area…Pitcher of the Year for the Lakeside Cardinals in the summer of 2005…Named one of the top pitchers in the state of Illinois when he was selected by the IHSBCA as a member of the 2005 ‘Cream of the Crop’... In 2004, went 8-2 with 1.93 ERA to go along with the 102 strikeouts in 58 innings of work…2004 all-conference selection…Set a school record by striking out 18 batters in a seven inning regional final game in 2004.
