“We couldn't be more excited to have coach Beck join our staff,” EKU Head Coach Walt Jones said.  “Throughout his career, he has been a part of several high achieving teams and pitching staffs.  Blake’s knowledge, work ethic and fearless desire to be great is just what our program needs.  He is the perfect fit as a human and as a coach.”

Beck led the Muscle Shoals High School program for the past two seasons (2023 and 2024).  He managed all aspects of the program including fundraising, community service, field maintenance, scheduling, and strength and conditioning.

From the summer of 2020 through the 2022 season, Beck served as the pitching coach and oversaw all recruiting at Tennessee Tech.  He also managed the operations budget, coordinated with athletic academic advisors and oversaw scheduling.

Left-hander Ty Fisher earned a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference All-Freshman Team under Beck’s guidance in 2021.  Fisher led the team in wins, ERA and strikeouts that season.  Beck helped the Golden Eagles to a 30-win season in 2022.

During the 2020 season, Beck served as the pitching coach at Jones College.  He was responsible for the overall management and development of the pitching staff.

Beck was the director of player development at Auburn from 2016 to 2019.  He was part of a staff that led the Tigers to three NCAA regionals, two super regionals and a College World Series appearance in three seasons.  Auburn averaged 39 wins per year.  Beck assisted the pitching coach with day-to-day management of the staff, worked directly with pitchers in bullpen pitch design sessions, was responsible for all advance scouting of opponents and assisted with on-campus recruiting.

The Auburn pitching staff was anchored in 2017 and 2018 by No. 1 MLB Draft pick Casey Mize.

As the volunteer assistant coach at Troy during the 2016 season, Beck was the outfield position coach, coached first base and was responsible for on-campus recruiting.  The Trojans won 32 games that season.

Beck’s coaching career started at Mississippi State where he served as a graduate assistant and video coordinator from 2014 to 2015.  He helped setup daily pre-practice, group work and bullpens, edited all drill work, team practice and game video, assisted the staff with video player analysis, and conducted advanced scouting of all opponents.

A native of Hamilton, Alabama, Beck was a starting pitcher for two years at Shelton State Community College, where he had a career 2.67 ERA for the Buccaneers, before becoming the video coordinator at Troy in 2012.  Beck spent two years on the staff as a student assisting and participating in team practice, supervising team managers, and leading field maintenance operations.  He worked with the 2013 Troy team that went 42-20, won a Sun Belt Conference Championship and earned a spot in the NCAA Regionals.

Beck completed a bachelor’s of science degree in sport and fitness management at Troy in 2014.  He received a master’s of science in kinesiology with a concentration in sport pedagogy at Mississippi State in 2016.
