In 2021, Wofford helped the Colonels to victories over No. 15 Georgia Tech and No. 7 Louisville.  EKU also got the tying run to second base in the ninth inning at No. 2 Vanderbilt before falling by two.  The Colonels improved throughout the season, winning three of their final five conference series.

As a team, the Colonels set a new program record with a .972 fielding percentage.

Caleb Upshaw was a first team all-conference selection in 2021 after ranking fifth in the league in total bases, sixth in RBIs and tied for ninth in home runs.  Kendal Ewell, who hit for the cycle against NCAA Tournament participant North Dakota State earned a spot on the all-freshman team.

“Cody is a young, up-and-coming assistant that already has a great on-the-field reputation and foundation for helping players improve on the player development side of things,” head coach Chris Prothro said.  “He is a real asset to the program in multiple phases.”

Wofford came to EKU from Georgia Southern University where he was a volunteer assistant from 2018-20.  During his time at Georgia Southern he worked with infielders and catchers, assisted with hitters, managed game day operations, travel operations, coached first base, threw batting practice, conducted all camps, and managed in house recruiting.

Before his time at Georgia Southern, Wofford was a student assistant at the University of South Alabama from 2016-18.  While at South Alabama he threw batting practice, assisted with the infielders and helped post two national top-25 fielding percentage seasons.  He also assisted with hitters, coached first base, assisted with practice and game day set up, and assisted with camps and tournaments.

Wofford also worked as an instructor at The Bullpen in McDonough, Georgia where he gave hitting lessons, provided pitching instruction and assisted with teaching fielding skills.

Wofford started his college baseball career at Darton College where he played from 2011-13.  He transferred to Western Kentucky where he was the starting shortstop from 2013-15.

Wofford received his associate’s degree in general studies from Darton College in 2013.  He got his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Western Kentucky in 2016.
