Tyler Cook is in his first season as Eastern Kentucky’s volunteer assistant coach. At EKU, Cook is responsible for the outfielders and assists with the hitters.
The Bloomington, Illinois native played four seasons at the University of South Carolina Upstate (2008-2012). He started in the outfield for the Spartans for three seasons and posted a career .272 batting average. He finished his collegiate career ranked in the top-20 in school history in hits, games played, games started and at bats.
Last spring, Cook assisted the Belmont University baseball operations staff with game day setup and umpire coordination while in graduate school.
This past summer, Cook served as the head coach of the Lexington Snipes, a Midwest Collegiate League team in Bloomington, Illinois. He led the Snipes to a 24-22 record, earning a spot in the MCL playoffs.
Cook earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration from USC Upstate in May 2012. He completed a master’s degree in sport administration at Belmont in May 2014.
