Steven Adams joined the EKU program as director of operations in July of 2022.

Adams served as the head baseball coach at Louisiana State University of Alexandria from 2016 to 2021.  He also co-founded and was the director of operations and player development for the Team Louisiana summer baseball organization from 2011-20.
 
In five seasons as head coach at LSU Alexandria, Adams compiled a 131-111 record and coached 14 players who went on to play professional baseball.

“Steven came to us with multiple years of success as a head coach at the collegiate level, after spending time as an assistant at one of the nation’s most successful junior college programs,” said head coach Chris Prothro.  “He is extremely organized with a high baseball IQ, and has the character and personality that will make a huge impact on the student-athletes in our program.”
 
Adams has also worked as the head baseball coach at Vermilion Catholic High School (2013-16), as the associate head coach at Hutchinson Community College (2005-10) and as the head coach at Riverdale Academy (2003-05).  From 2006 to 2010, Adams was a scout in the Cleveland Guardians organization.
 
Adams earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies, with minors in history and social science, at Northwestern State University in 2004.  He helped the Demons win back-to-back Southland Conference regular season championships in 2001 and 2002.  He completed a master’s degree in sport administration at Northwestern State in 2010.
