Mia Forster was hired as an assistant coach for distance in July 2022 and is currently in her third year in the role. She graduated from Siena College with an Undergraduate degree in Communications with a concentration in Journalism. At Siena, she competed for three years as a distance runner. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Forster earned a Masters in Sports Management with certificate in coaching from St. John's University, where also competed for another three seasons.
In Forster's first two years with the program, she assisted in producing multiple individual conferences champions in distance events as well as back-to-back ASUN championships in men's cross country. In the 2023-24 season, Forster helped lead the EKU men to a second place finish at the Southeast Region Cross Country Championships, the highest team finish in school history, and an appearance at the Men's NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.
Additionally, a number of Colonel distance runners under Forsters' coaching have received conference, regional, and national honors. Honors earned under her include 20 All-Conference cross country runners, five USTFCCCA All-Region selections in cross country, four honorable mention All-Americans in track & field, and two First Team All-American earners in track & field.
