Brian Landis joined the EKU coaching staff in the spring of 2015 after spending the previous 11 years at Georgetown College. Landis will serve as the safeties coach for the Colonels.

While working at Georgetown, Landis coached the defensive backs for nine years and developed an all-conference or All-American player every year on staff. Landis helped Georgetown achieve the NAIA No. 1 national ranking in the 2012 regular season and reach the NAIA national playoffs eight times in his tenure.

Landis joined Georgetown’s coaching staff for the first time as a graduate assistant in 2001. That year, the Tigers went on to win the NAIA national championship. Landis returned to Georgetown in 2004 and served two years as an assistant linebackers coach before taking over the defensive backs.

Landis also served as Georgetown’s recruiting coordinator from 2010 to 2014 and NFL liaison from 2009 to 2014.

As a collegiate player at Georgetown, Landis was a three-time all-conference honoree at safety. He was captain of the 2000 Tiger squad that won the NAIA national championship. Landis earned Defensive Player of the Game accolades in the 2000 national title game.

Landis played one year of professional football for the Lexington Horsemen arena team in 2004.
Landis holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Georgetown College. He and his wife, Ashley, have two sons – Park (five) and Jack (three).
