The 2017 season will be the second for Eric Norris as EKU’s offensive quality control coach.
In 2016, Eastern’s offense totaled 400 or more yards in a game five times and came close to eclipsing that mark on two other occasions, finishing with 398 and 387 yards respectively. The Colonels strung together three straight games of more than 500 yards of offense.
Norris is an alumni and former Colonel. He entered EKU in 2002 under legendary head coach Roy Kidd and finished his career at Eastern in 2006. He earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical Education.
Upon the completion of his career at EKU he played semi-professional football for the Lexington Horsemen, Peach State Rattlers, and the Macon Steele until 2012.
Norris was the assistant head coach at Madison Middle School in 2008. He was the head high school football coach at Westside Christian Academy in Warner Robins Georgia from 2011-2014. In 2016 he received his master’s degree in health and physical education from Northwest Missouri State University where he worked with athletic administration as an intern.
