Jake Schaefer joined the EKU football program as an offensive quality control coach in the summer of 2018.
 
Schaefer served as the quarterbacks coach and video coordinator at Case Western Reserve University from June 2017 until joining the Colonel program.  He tutored a senior quarterback to first team all-conference, conference MVP and honorable mention all-region honors.  He helped Case Western Reserve to a 10-0 regular season record and a return to the NCAA playoffs for the first time since 2009.
 
From March 2016 to October 2016, Schaefer was quarterback and an assistant coach for the Munich Cowboys in the German Football League.  He assisted in the weekly game plan.
 
Schaefer also worked with quarterbacks at John Carroll University.
 
The Parma Heights, Ohio native earned a bachelor of arts and science degree from John Carroll University in May of 2017.  He was three-year letter winner and team captain at JCU.
