Ryan Gravel joined the EKU football program as player development coordinator in April 2017. 

In December of 2017, Gravel took on the responsibilities of director of recruiting.  In 2020, Gravel will serve in the role of Director of Player Personnel while continuing to aid Eastern Kentucky’s recruiting efforts. 
 
In 2018 helped put together a signing class ranked 11th in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) according to rankings by 247Sports.  The class was rated higher than such programs as Jacksonville State, James Madison, Montana, North Dakota, Southern Illinois, Furman, Illinois State and Sam Houston State.
 
A year later, Gravel coordinated the efforts for another 11th ranked class.  The group received a higher ranking than such programs as North Dakota State (12), Illinois State (14), James Madison (16), Montana (17), Kennesaw State (18), Northern Iowa (20) and Jacksonville State (23) among others.
 
Gravel worked to put together a third straight top-20 rated recruiting class in 2020.  The class was ranked higher than those from Montana State, Youngstown State, Northern Iowa, Richmond and Elon. 
 
Gravel previously served as the recruiting assistant at Yale University where he helped the Bulldogs land the No. 1 rated recruiting class in 2015 and another top-5 class in 2016.  At Yale, he evaluated all potential recruits, organized all aspects of official visits, coordinated summer prospect camps and operated all social media outlets for the football program.
 
From July 2014 to August 2015, Gravel served as the assistant wide receivers coach at John Carroll University.  He helped JCU reach No. 5 in the nation during the 2014 season.  His duties included creating weekly opponent scouting reports, recruiting western Ohio and nationally, and organized recruiting visits.  He coached an All-America wide receiver that broke both receiving yards and touchdown single season records.
 
Gravel’s coaching career began as the wide receivers coach and assistant director of football operations at Ave Maria University.  He served in this position from February 2013 to July 2014.  Gravel has also served as a development intern at Florida Gulf Coast University and as a game day operations intern for the Fort Myers Miracle minor league baseball team.
 
The Swampscott, Massachusetts native earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business/sport management from Florida Gulf Coast in August 2013.
