Shalyne Walters was chosen as the football player development coordinator in the summer of 2016. 
 
Walters assists the director of recruiting in all aspects of recruiting, including being responsible for all transcripts, eligibility and other needs of prospects until they get on campus, and organizing all campus visits.  She is also in charge of setting up weekly service projects for the team.
 
The McKee, Kentucky native most recently served as an academic services assistant at the University of Kentucky where she helped ensure student-athlete eligibility and created weekly grade reports for coaches.
 
Walters served in a variety of roles at Eastern Kentucky University and with the football program as a student from 2011 to 2015.  From 2011 to 2013 she was the liaison between the football program and the EKU ticket office, managed equipment and charted stats during games and practices.  She also served an internship with the EKU strength and conditioning coaches for one semester before returning as an intern for the football team.  During the 2014 and 2015 seasons, Walters assisted the director of football operations, recruiting coordinator and head coach.  She organized team travel and game meals, managed a recruiting email database and organized unofficial and official recruiting visits.
 
Walters earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management at EKU in 2014.  She earned a master’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in sport administration from Eastern Kentucky in 2015.
