A three-star national prospect according to On3 and 247Sports, Hinton was a member of the IMG Academy Ascenders in his senior season. IMG went 10-0 on the year as Hinton helped pave the way as the offense posted 3,283 yards of total offense and 39 total touchdowns.

Son of Deria Simpson-Akins and Fredrick Hinton Sr, has three sisters Nesha, Tye, and Libby... plans on studying business... had offers from 18 Division I schools coming out of high school.
