Biography

AS A REDSHIRT SENIOR IN 2016
Saw action in all 11 games and started once … finished the season with 18 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and one forced fumble … had a season-best five tackles at Ball State (Sept. 17) and also recorded half a sack for a loss of three yards.

AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR IN 2015
Appeared in six games … started the first game of the season against Valparaiso (Sept. 3) … missed five games in the middle of the season due to an injury … totaled 11 tackles, forced a fumble and blocked a kick … had three tackles against Valpo … registered three tackles, one quarterback hurry and forced a fumble at Murray State (Nov. 14) … blocked a punt attempt at Eastern Illinois (Nov. 21) that was picked up by teammate Tyrell Curry and returned 35 yards for a touchdown. 
 
AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE IN 2014
Played in all 13 games with eight starts at defensive end … finished the season with 22 tackles including four tackles for loss and two sacks … had six quarterback hurries and three pass breakups … recovered two fumbles one of which he forced. 
 
AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN IN 2013
Did not see any action. 
 
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2012
Redshirt season.

HIGH SCHOOL
Two-time all-district player … honorable mention all-state … 92 career receptions for 1,781 yards and 18 scores … also had five rushing touchdowns in his career … played rover on defense … a member of three state champion relay teams – 4x200 meters twice and 4x100 meters once … played on the 2010 district champion basketball team.

PERSONAL
Son of Kelly and Doran Summers … born on March 19, 1994 … he is the first person in his family to attend college.
