Alec Brown joined the EKU football program as a defensive quality control coach in the spring of 2020.
 
In his first season, Brown helped the defense stymie a pair of Southern Conference offenses helping EKU beat The Citadel, 37-14, on the road and Western Carolina, 49-17, in the 2020 Opportunity Bowl.  EKU also knocked off No. 11 Central Arkansas for the program’s first win over a top-25 ranked team since 2013, and first victory over a non-conference ranked team since 2003.
 
During the 2019 season, Brown was the outside linebackers coach and defensive graduate assistant at Murray State University.  He was the only defensive coach in the press box and was responsible for all personnel changes, pre-snap formation recognitions, post-snap plays ran and pre-snap key player identification.
 
From May 2018 to March 2019 Brown served as the varsity defensive line coach, special teams coach and junior varsity defensive coordinator at Pinson Valley High School in Alabama.  He helped the team capture the 2018 Class 6A State Championship.  During the 2017 season, Brown was the varsity defensive line coach and junior varsity head coach/defensive coordinator at Loachapoka High School in Alabama.
 
Brown played two seasons (2014 and 2015) as a defensive end/outside linebacker at Auburn University.  He earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in history with a minor in kinesiology from Auburn in 2017.  Brown was a member of the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2014 and 2015.
