Brentton Ervin chose to remain a part of the EKU football program as a defensive quality control coach in the spring of 2020.
Ervin was a linebacker for the Colonels from 2016 to 2019. As a senior, he started four times and played in all 12 games. The Louisville, Kentucky native totaled 30 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for a loss. He finished with a season-best six tackles, including two tackles for a loss, at Louisville (Sept. 7). In three seasons, Ervin played in 23 games.
In his first season, Ervin assisted a defense that stymied a pair of Southern Conference offenses helping EKU beat The Citadel, 37-14, on the road and Western Carolina, 49-17, in the 2020 Opportunity Bowl. EKU also knocked off No. 11 Central Arkansas for the program’s first win over a top-25 ranked team since 2013, and first victory over a non-conference ranked team since 2003.
Ervin earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in sport management in December 2019.
