Clay McKee joined the EKU football program as an offensive quality control coach in the summer of 2020.
In his first season, McKee helped an offense that concluded the fall third in the nation in passing offense (247.4 yards per game) and fourth in the country in total offense (376.4 yards per game). The Colonels ran up a season-high 590 yards of offense against Western Carolina in the 2020 Opportunity Bowl. The unit totaled 400 yards or more of offense in six of the final seven games of the season.
McKee spent the spring of 2020 as an offensive quality control assistant working with wide receivers at Austin Peay. He worked directly with the offensive coordinator on the playbook and served as the offensive recruiting liaison. During the 2019 season, McKee was the running backs coach at Centre College. The backfield gained 1,896 yards and scored 11 touchdowns.
McKee was a recruiting assistant at the University of Kentucky from February to August 2019. During the 2018 season, McKee served as the offensive coordinator at Scott County High School in Georgetown, Kentucky.
