Isaac Akers joined the EKU football program as an offensive quality control coach in the spring of 2019.
In his first season with the Colonels, Akers aided an offense that led the conference and finish 20th in the country in rushing. Eastern also led the conference in red-zone offense and was third in scoring.
During the 2018 season, Akers was the tight ends coach at Montana Tech University. In addition to coaching the tight ends, he ran the scout team defense and managed special teams.
Akers earned a bachelor’s of science degree in sports management at Greenville University in May of 2018.
