Dan Bozzelli is beginning his first season on the Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball staff.
Bozzelli serves as Director of Operations / Intern.
Bozzelli comes to EKU after two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Division III DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
“Dan is an exceptional addition to our staff and we are lucky to have him,” McHale said. “His knowledge of the game, work ethic and passion will only enhance our staff. I have know Dan a long time and I am just thrilled that he has joined our family.”
During his time at DePauw, Bozzelli was involved with all aspects of the men’s basketball program, including leading the recruiting and scouting efforts for the Tigers. He coordinated weight training programs for in-season and off-season workouts, in addition to working with the Indiana 3-D AAU Program.
Prior to DePauw, Bozzelli was an assistant coach at the University of Rochester, which posted a 42-35 record during his three seasons, including winning the University Athletic Association title in 2013 and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
His other prior assistant coaching stops include: Nazareth College, Wilmington (Del.) University and Rochester Institute of Technology.
Bozzelli has extensive collegiate and elite basketball camp coaching experience, including stints at camps run by the University of Notre Dame, Princeton University, Davidson College, Dickinson College, Siena College, Rochester Institute of Technology and Hoops Group Elite camps.
The native of Rochester, New York graduated from the State University of New York College at Cortland in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He played two seasons for the Red Dragons basketball program.
Bozzelli earned a master’s degree in physical education from Ithaca College, while serving as a graduate assistant for the men’s basketball program.
Bozzelli is a graduate of Aquinas Institute High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete, earning varsity letters in basketball (including advancing to the New York State Final Four), soccer (including winning a New York State Title) and tennis.
