Everick Sullivan is now in his third season on the Eastern Kentucky University coaching staff.
Sullivan, who has almost 10 years of experience as a collegiate basketball coach, was promoted to associate head coach this past summer. In his two years at EKU, Sullivan has helped the Colonels average 19 wins per year and advance to the 2010 Collegiate Basketball Invitational postseason tournament.
“Everick has done a tremendous job at EKU over the last two years,” EKU head coach Jeff Neubauer said. “He came to us with a wonderful reputation as a coach and has lived up to that reputation every day on the job in Richmond. Promoting Everick to associate head coach makes a lot of sense because this shows people outside of the program that I’m confident in his abilities to lead our student-athletes. Everick has a great presence as a coach and has a great future in our profession.”
Sullivan spent the previous four years as a head coach while compiling an overall record of 107-26 (.804). From 2005-08, Sullivan was in charge of the Vincennes (Ind.) University program and helped the Trailblazers advance to two National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) tournament appearances.
Sullivan began his coaching career at Wabash Valley College (Ill.) (2002-04) before serving one year as the head coach at Lincoln Trail College (Ill.) (2004-05).

The native of Simpsonville, S.C., played collegiate basketball at the University of Louisville under Hall of Fame head coach Denny Crum from 1988-92. He played in three NCAA tournaments and is among the Cardinals’ all-time leaders in scoring (15th), assists (ninth), three-point percentage (10th) and dunks (10th).
After earning a bachelor’s degree in communications, Sullivan went on to play eight years of professional basketball in Finland, Portugal, Slovenia, Poland, Puerto Rico, Cyprus and Lebanon. In 1998, his team won the Cyprus league championship and he was voted MVP.
