AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2021-22
Played in 29 games and started 19 times … averaged 11.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.93 assists and 1.2 steals per game … shot 44 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range … connected on 82 percent of his free throws (62-of-76) … sixth in the ASUN Conference in rebounding and 13th in assists … chosen as ASUN Player of the Week after scoring a season-high 29 points and grabbed a season-best 14 rebounds against Alice Lloyd (Dec. 31), going 13-for-19 from the field … finished with a double-double of 14 points and 10 boards at Western Kentucky (Dec. 4) … had another double-double – 13 points and 13 rebounds – against Lipscomb (Jan. 18) … handed out a season-high six assists at West Virginia (Nov. 26) … had four steals against North Alabama (Feb. 16) … made a 14-foot jumper with 16.2 seconds left in regulation to tie the game against Northern Kentucky (Dec. 18).

Appeared in 24 games and started once … averaged 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game … played an average of 14.2 minutes per contest … shot 62 percent from the field (56-of-91) … scored a season-best 19 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field against Tennessee-Martin (Jan. 21) … grabbed a season-high seven rebounds twice – at Tennessee State (Feb. 13) and at Southeast Missouri (Feb. 20) … scored 11 points in the first round conference tournament victory against Austin Peay (March 4).

Blanton out of powerhouse St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland .... a four-year starter at St. Edward ... scored 1,000 career points and helped the Eagles reach two state final fours ... St. Edward had won 19 consecutive games and was ranked No. 1 in Ohio and No. 18 in the country by MaxPreps before this season was cut short ... was voted second team all-state as a senior after averaging 18.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 43 percent from behind the arc ... was named to all-tournament teams for the Cleveland Scholastic, Play-by-Play Classic and the Flying to the Hoop Basketball Invitational ... as a junior, Blanton led St. Edward in scoring, rebounding and assists.
