SUMMER 2014
Started all four games during Eastern Kentucky’s summer tour in Australia … second on the team in scoring (16 ppg) … shot 51 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range … had nine assists and only six turnovers … made 4-of-7 from behind the arc and scored a game-high 21 points against the Cairns Taipans (Aug. 14) … had 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals in a victory over the Suncoast Clippers (Aug. 11) … scored 19 points against the Wollongong Hawks (Aug. 10).
AS A JUNIOR IN 2013-14
Appeared in 31 of the team’s 34 games … started the first three games of the season … averaged 3.5 points and 1.0 rebounds per game … shot 45.5 percent from the field and 38 percent from behind the three-point arc … finished second on the team with 14 blocks … scored a career-best 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field against Warren Wilson (Nov. 13) … tied his career-high with four three-pointers and also had a career-high four assists and three steals against Warren Wilson … tied his career-best with three blocks against Brescia (Nov. 22) … had 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block at Eastern Illinois (Jan. 2) … finished with seven points in a nationally televised victory over Belmont (Jan. 16) … scored six points in seven minutes of action in the regular season finale against Tennessee State (March 1).
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2012-13
Played in 22 of the team’s 35 games … averaged 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game … shot 42 percent from the field … started once … came off the bench to score what was then a career-best 13 points to go along with three rebounds, two assists and a block at Belmont (Jan. 17) … hit 3-of-4 three-pointers and scored nine points against Tennessee State (Jan. 24) … started against Belmont (Jan. 26) and scored six points … during a four-game stretch Knipp averaged 8.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks … 2012-13 Colonel Scholar.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2011-12
Started the first four games of his collegiate career … played in 31 of the team’s 32 games … averaged 3.3 points and 1.4 rebounds per game … shot 34.7 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from three-point range … scored 12 points in his first collegiate game, at Mississippi State (Nov. 7) … went 4-for-7 from behind the arc against Mississippi State … blocked a season-high three shots, the most by a Colonel during the 2011-12 season, at Winthrop (Nov. 12) … grabbed a season-best seven rebounds and finished with 11 points at Austin Peay (Jan. 12).
HIGH SCHOOL
Gatorade’s Player of the Year in Kentucky as a senior … four-year starter for Elliott County … scored 13 points in the Ohio-Kentucky all-star game in April 2011 … averaged 26.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 5.7 blocks per game as a senior … made 62 three-pointers as a senior … led the state of Kentucky in scoring as a junior with 30.8 points per game … helped Elliott County reach three state tournaments, including the 2008-09 season when Elliott County made a run to the semifinals of the KHSAA Sweet 16.
