AS A SENIOR IN 2021-22
Chosen to the ASUN Conference Men’s Golf All-Academic Team … played in all 13 events and all 37 rounds … led the team with a 73.03 stroke average … had a team-best 11 rounds at par or below … posted three top-10 performances … tied for first at the Jackrabbit Invitational (March 11-12) with a total of 212 (-4) … also shot rounds of 69 at the EKU Intercollegiate (Sept. 3-4), the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational (Sept. 17-18), the Zach Johnson Invitational (Sept. 27-28), the Mountaineer Invitational (Oct. 4-5) and the Tiger Intercollegiate (April 11-12) … also had a three-round total of 212 (-1) at the Zach Johnson Invitational, finishing eighth … led EKU and finished 23rd at the ASUN Championship (April 24-26) ... ASUN Conference Honor Roll.

AS A JUNIOR IN 2020-21
Played in all seven events and 20 rounds … third on the team with a 75.50 stroke average … shot four rounds at par or below … shot a season-best round of 70 at the Sea Palms Invitational (March 4-6) … had a season-low 54-hole total of 218 and tied for 25th in a field of 77 at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate (March 14-16) ... earned a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

AS A JUNIOR IN 2019-20
Appeared in five events and a total of 14 rounds … had a 73.86 stroke average … shot five rounds at par or below … tied for fourth among 74 golfers at the EKU Intercollegiate (Sept. 14-15), opening the vent with a season-low round of 67 … tied for 20th at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational (Sept. 9-10).

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2018-19
Played in nine of the team’s 11 events … posted a 75.24 stroke average … shot four rounds at par or below … began the season with a two-round 141 (-1) at the Marshall Invitational (Sept. 10-11) and tied for 21st … shot a career low 68 (-2) during the EKU Intercollegiate (Sept. 15-16) and tied for 11th with a three-round total of 213 (+3) … played the first two rounds at the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Championship (April 21-23), carding a 78 and a 74 ... earned a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
 
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2017-18
Saw action in three events … played nine rounds … had a 77.44 stroke average … shot a season-low 72 at the EKU Intercollegiate (Sept. 16-17) … tied for 49th among 84 golfers at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate with a 54-hole total of 234 ... earned a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Won the individual state championship as a senior … first team all-state … Iowa Player of the Year … All-Iowa Sports Awards Golfer of the Year … first team all-state tournament … won the district and conference individual championships … first team all-conference … posted a 72.30 stroke average as a senior … finished fourth at the state tournament as a junior and was chosen first team all-state tournament and first team all-conference … had a 75.0 stroke average his junior season … class valedictorian … also a member of the swim team.

Full name is Willis David Gaer … son of Dave and Anne Gaer … has one brother – Charlie, and one sister – Emma … his father Dave played golf at Eastern Kentucky … majoring in risk management and insurance.
