Piriz possesses solid strokes off both wings … provides quality depth to the line-up … will be in a battle for a spot in the starting line-up … is 9-0 all-time against OVC competition … he won seven of eight singles dual matches as a junior playing anywhere from No. 4 to No. 6 singles … played No. 6 singles for the Colonels at the 2011 OVC tournament … went 4-0 against OVC competition last year which included three-set wins over opponents from Eastern Illinois and Jacksonville State … played in 14 dual matches as a sophomore, mainly at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots … one of seven Colonels to post at least 10 dual victories in 2010 … earned the decisive point in the 4-3 win over Dayton in 2010 … trailed 5-2 in the first set against Dayton before rattling off 11 of the final 13 games … also picked up the deciding point in the 4-3 victory over Wright State as a freshman thanks to a three-set win at No. 6 singles … reached as high as No. 310 in the Spanish men’s national rankings … he hopes to help the team win the OVC title this year … also played soccer in high school … in his spare time, he likes to travel and meet new people … his favorite hobby is to go to the beach during the summer while listening to Spanish music … his educational goal is to complete his collegiate degree with the best grades possible.
