Segota’s speed and court coverage are of superior level … has solid ground strokes on both sides … expected to be one of the top players in 2009 … elected 2009 team captain … went 6-3 against OVC opponents as a junior, splitting time between No. 2 and No. 3 singles … twice recorded a five-match winning streak last year … tallied a win at all six singles positions in 2007 … began his sophomore season by winning eight of his first nine singles matches … primarily played No. 3 singles as a sophomore, finishing the year 4-6 at that spot and 5-4 overall against OVC competition … joined the Colonels in the spring of 2006 … played No. 3 singles for EKU as a freshman … recorded four OVC singles victories in 2006, tied for second on the team … rallied for wins three times after losing the first set as a freshman … played with five doubles partners before settling with Vadzim Ivanis at the end of 2006 … he was a top-20 player in Slovenia throughout his junior years … reached No. 38 in the men’s Slovenian rankings … has participated in European satellite tennis events … his older brother is a student at San Diego State … he enjoys listening to music, hanging out with friends, watching movies and playing basketball … he wants to help the Colonels win an OVC team championship and earn an NCAA ranking.
