Hayley Sims joined the Eastern Kentucky program as an assistant coach in August of 2020, after a stellar career at Jacksonville State.
Sims was a member of Coastal Carolina's staff last year as a graduate assistant. During her time at Coastal Carolina, Sims assisted with developing practice plans/individual workouts, assisted with hitting and infield instruction, charts and practice data, assisted with developing game day lineups/determining game strategy, breakdown/send out all post game video, and assisted with on campus recruiting.

Before her time at Coastal Carolina, Sims was an assistant coach for Dirty South Athletics. While she was there, she helped with leading speed and agility/conditioning workouts, assisted with developing weekly practices, made line-ups, offensive and defensive play calling, scouted opponents, and coached first base. Â

Sims played at Jacksonville State University and graduated in 2019. She was a three-time Ohio Valley Conference tournament champion, three-time OVC regular season champion, and made three NCAA regional tournament appearances. She was a first team pick for the Louisiana Tech Classis All-Tournament Team in 2016.

She was named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll and the OVC student governance committee. Sims got her degree in special education from Jacksonville State.

"She has post season experience as a player and knows what it takes to win a championship," said Worthington. "I am looking forward to having her on our staff!"

Sims has been a university/showcase camp instructor at Coastal Carolina, Jacksonville State, University of West Georgia, Jarred Hardin, Champions Showcase, and Tri State Exposure.

Sims is currently getting her master's of education from Coastal Carolina.
