Played in all 13 games making four starts ... recorded 35 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, and a team-leading 4.5 sacks ... had two pass breakups and force three fumbles ... best statistical game came against No. 16 UCA (Nov. 11) with five tackles, two TFLs, and one sack and forced fumble.

IN 2023 AT EKU
Appeared in all 11 games including a start in the season finale against SFA (Nov. 18) ... made 12 tackles including one for loss which was a sack.

A four-star prospect listed as the nation’s No. 11 athlete and the No. 14 player in North Carolina in the 247Sports Composite • Ranked as the No. 19 outside linebacker and the No. 13 player in the state by Rivals • Tabbed as the nation’s No. 20 safety and the No. 23 player in the state according to ESPN • An SI All-America candidate prior to his senior season • Named to the Butkus Award watch list prior to his senior season • A second-team All-Gazette and All-Southern Piedmont 1-A selection as a junior despite missing the first five games of the season • Tallied 85 tackles, 11 sacks and 25 TFL • Scored four TDs on offense • Posted 118 tackles, five sacks and nine TFL as a sophomore • Made at least 10 tackles in eight games that year • Also caught 10 passes for 215 yards and four TDs • Added 40 tackles and two sacks as a freshman • Also participated in basketball and track and field • Coached by Robert Washington.

Son of Yolanda Stephens... Father, Calvin, played football at South Carolina and in the NFL before passing away at 42 due to a heart attack when Gabe was six years old... Brother, Calvin, plays football at Catawba College
