Lauren Snyder, a two-time All-Ohio Valley Conference selection, begins her fourth season as EKU’s assistant coach in 2017.
In her first season as an assistant coach in 2014, the Colonels posted their first 20-win season and best OVC finish since 2005. EKU placed third in the conference standings with an 11-5 mark. In 2016, Eastern upset No. 4 seed Belmont on its way to the OVC Tournament semifinals.

Snyder served as a student-assistant coach for the Colonels in 2012 and as a graduate assistant during the 2013 season.
After spending the first two seasons of her collegiate playing career at Central Connecticut State, Snyder transferred to Eastern Kentucky before the 2009 season.
In her first campaign with the Colonels, the Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky native earned second team All-OVC honors and was selected to the OVC All-Newcomer team after leading the team in kills (336) and points (379.0). She ranked sixth in the OVC with an average of 3.2 kills per set and seventh with an average of 3.61 points per set. She was selected as the OVC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 5 after averaging 5.67 kills and hitting .431 in two matches combined. She was second on the team with 25 aces and was third on the team with 235 digs.
Snyder posted another all-conference caliber season as a senior in 2010. She finished second on the team in kills (322), points (358.5) and digs (231). She ranked 10th in the OVC with 3.04 kills per set.
Snyder earned second team All-Northeast Conference recognition as a freshman at Central Connecticut State. She was a first team selection following her sophomore season.
As four-year starter at Beechwood High School, Snyder was a two-time all-state honoree. She helped lead the Bullets Volleyball Club 18 Open squad to fifth place at the AAU Championships.
