Rachel Slone joined the Eastern Kentucky University athletics department in October 2013 as director of athletics marketing. Park was selected as EKU's senior woman administrator in June of 2017 and was promoted to the position of assistant athletics director for marketing in 2018.
In the summer of 2020, Slone was promoted to associate athletics director for fan experience. She also serves as EKU's deputy Title IX coordinator.Â
Slone graduated from EKU in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in communications.

Prior to coming to Eastern Kentucky, Slone worked for two years as an assistant in the sports information office at the University of Louisville while working on her graduate degree. Slone earned her Master of Science in Sport Administration in December 2007.

From there, Slone worked as the Assistant Director of Athletics Public Relations at the University of Richmond in Richmond, Va.  from August 2008 until returning to her alma mater in the fall of 2013. Slone was the primary sport contact for women’s basketball, soccer, lacrosse and tennis. She provided coverage for the women’s basketball team while on a foreign tour to Sweden and Norway in the summer of 2010. Slone worked with ESPN and CBS Sports Network for nationally-televised games with the Spiders during her tenure there.

Slone’s father, Karl Park, was inducted in the EKU Hall of Fame in 2006, for his 34 years as the sports information director.Â
Slone and her husband, Andy, reside in Richmond with their son John Woodford and their golden retriever, Izzy.
