Álvaro concluded his senior season with a flawless 9-0 record in Ohio Valley Conference singles play. The Madrid, Spain native, along with teammate Ramon van Flymen defeated the 15th ranked doubles team of No. 1 Virginia to earn a national ranking--the first for the program. Álvaro picked up two OVC Tennis Male Athlete of the Week awards in his final season .

A four-time All-OVC selection, Álvaro helped the Colonels to a regular season championship and a 2015 OVC Tournament Championship. He was named OVC Freshman of the Year in 2013.
