On Nov. 22, EKU senior guard Shavontae Naylor was voted Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for the second straight week.
Naylor made her presence felt in her first game in a Colonel uniform, notching her first double-double in EKU's 57-55 win over Mid-American Conference opponent Bowling Green State University on Nov. 11.
The Ocala, Florida native finished with a team-high 15 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 42 percent from the floor. Twelve of Naylor's rebounds came on the defensive end, limiting late Falcon possessions. The 5-foot-11 guard contributed to three BGSU turnovers, picking up two steals and a block in the win.
Naylor added a team-high 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting, and finished with four steals in the Colonels' game at Kent State. She pulled down six rebounds—all coming on the defensive end—at Kent State and leads the OVC in defensive rebounds-per-game. Naylor also leads the league, averaging 3.0 steals-per-game.
