Asante Gist was voted OVC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time on January 9. The point guard from East Orange, New Jersey scored a career-high 25 points and matched a career-high with six assists vs. OVC foe SIUE on January 5.

Gist ranks in the top-10 in the OVC in scoring (14.8 points-per-game) and assists (4.0 assists-per-game). He leads all freshmen in the league in both categories.
