MOREHEAD, Ky. – In the 2007 season opener, the Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team fell to Towson in five games (22-30, 25-30, 30-28, 30-14, 15-13) as part of the Comfort Inn and Suites Invitational hosted by Morehead State. This was the season opener for both teams.

The Colonels looked poised for a three-game sweep thanks to hitting .329 over the first two games, but senior stand-out libero Brittany Nobilio left the match in game three with an injury. Towson then battled back to earn the win thanks to two close decisions in games three and five.

Junior Amanda Wilson paced the EKU offense with 19 kills while fellow junior Bridget Wilson added 17 putaways on a .344 attack percentage. Meanwhile, newcomers Traesha Worley and Ashley Bayer chipped in with 17 combined kills.

Eastern Kentucky is back in action tomorrow afternoon at the Comfort Inn and Suites Invitational with a match against Southern Illinois. Match time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
