MARTIN, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky will conclude its Ohio Valley Conference opening road trip on Saturday at Tennessee-Martin. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET. The Lady Colonels (3-3, 1-0 OVC) opened conference play with a win at Murray State on Thursday.

Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series 29-10 and has won six straight against UT Martin. The Lady Colonels have won nine of the last 10 meetings between the two teams.
EKU won its third straight game and snapped Murray State’s 21-game home court winning streak with a 58-54 win on Thursday. The Racers’ home court run was the fourth longest active streak in the nation. MSU entered the game averaging 78.2 points per game and shooting 42.7 percent from the field. The Lady Colonels limited the Racers to 54 points and 26.2 percent shooting.
Eastern Kentucky has won three straight games for the first time since beginning the 2007-08 season 3-0. EKU hasn’t won four straight games since putting together a streak of 15 straight on its way to the NCAA tournament in 2005.

Alex Jones recorded her first collegiate double-double against MSU, finishing with 12 points and a game-best 14 rebounds. She added four assists, two steals and one block. Junior newcomer
Talisha Davis also finished with 12 points, to go along with seven rebounds and three steals. Junior
Cherie White scored 10 points and made all six of her free throw attempts, including four in the final minute of play.
Eastern out-rebounded MSU 51-39. Eastern Kentucky has out-rebounded its opponent in five of its first six games.
UT Martin is off to a 1-4 start to the season. The Skyhawks lost their first three games before beating Houston Baptist 66-53. UTM opened conference play on Thursday with a 59-42 home court loss to Morehead State.
Tennessee-Martin is under first-year head coach Kevin McMillan. Just four letter winners return from last season’s 2-27 squad.
Junior Alecia Weatherly leads the team with an average of 13 points per game. The 5-foot-11 forward is second on the team with an average of 7.6 rebounds per contest. Weatherly redshirted at Trevecca Nazarene University before attending Belmont for two years.
Jessica Pace, a freshman forward, is second on the team with an average of 9.8 points per game and leads the Skyhawks with an average of 3.6 assists per contest.
Against Morehead State on Thursday, UTM fell behind by 23 at halftime, but opened the second half on a 16-2 run. Through the first 12 minutes of the second, the Eagles scored only two points.
Weatherly led the team with 19 points. She added eight rebounds. Pace had 10 points, five rebounds and two assists to go along with eight turnovers. Forward Darnisha Lyles finished with four points and nine rebounds.
Tennessee-Martin committed 26 turnovers and made just 52.9 percent of its free throws.
