RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky’s women’s basketball team will play its final home game of the 2008-09 season on Saturday against rival Morehead State. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. The game is being sponsored by Delta Dental. The Lady Colonels (6-18, 3-12 OVC) will honor senior Ilona Muszak before the game.

After playing Morehead State, Eastern finishes off the regular season with road games at UT Martin and Murray State.

In their last game, the Lady Colonels used a late 12-2 run to get within seven, but Eastern Illinois held on for a 70-59 win last Saturday at McBrayer Arena. Freshman Kayla Drake led the Lady Colonels with 20 points.

Nadia Mossong recorded a double-double for EKU, scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. EIU out-rebounds its opponents by six boards per game, but the Lady Colonels finished with a 45-40 rebounding advantage.

Drake was selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for the third straight week, and the sixth time this season, on Monday. In two games last week, the Kokomo, Ind., native averaged 16.5 points, five rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals.

Freshman Courtney Lumpkin hit a 15-foot jumper as time expired. Trailing 54-53 with six seconds left, the Eagles pushed the ball up the court where Tiffany Hamilton launched a layup with two seconds left. Pittman deflected the rebound to Lumpkin who tossed it back in as the final horn sounded.

Bozeman led MSU with 25 points. No other Eagle scored more than eight points.

Morehead State is 2-3 in its last five games, with losses to Austin Peay, Tennessee Tech and Eastern Illinois.
