RICHMOND, Ky. – With summer classes at Eastern Kentucky University beginning next week, it’s not too early to take a look at the upcoming fall football season. Below are some news and notes about the EKU Colonels.
--The Colonels received their 2008 OVC championship rings at a private luncheon on April 25. EKU wrapped up the spring football schedule on Sunday, April 26 with the annual Spring Game.
--One preseason All-American team has already been announced. Consensus Draft Services (cdsdraft.com) named senior offensive lineman
Derek Hardman to its second team All-American list while senior defensive lineman
Chris Hall earned honorable mention status.

The EKU football team concluded the 2008 season 8-4 overall while earning the program’s 20th Ohio Valley Conference title and 31st consecutive winning season. The Colonels’ first game of the 2009 schedule is Thursday, Sept. 3 at Indiana.
