Colonels Look to Extend Win Streak to Three Games

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University football team will look to pick up its first road win of the season Saturday afternoon at OVC foe UT Martin. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET.

EKU (2-3, 1-0) is one of three remaining undefeated teams in conference action following a 35-7 victory over Eastern Illinois last week. The Colonels ran for a season-high 287 yards while limiting the Panthers to just 29 yards on the ground. Eastern now hopes to conquer its road issues. The Colonels have lost six straight road games dating back to last year while posting a combined turnover margin of -11 in those games.

This will be the second of three straight home games for UT Martin (2-4, 2-2). The Skyhawks piled up 427 yards of offense against No. 3 Jacksonville State a week ago, but allowed the Gamecocks to escape with a 30-20 win. Quarterback Derek Carr leads the OVC in passing yards per game (224.2). Carr completed a career-high 31 passes last week for 338 yards and two scores.

Eastern Kentucky has never lost to UT Martin, winning all 20 games between the two schools. However, the last three meetings have been decided by a total of 11 points.
