MURRAY, Ky. – In a key match that will determine seeding in the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference tournament, Eastern Kentucky fell to Murray State, 3-0, on Friday night in Murray. Senior
Lauren Snyder led the Colonels with 12 kills.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-21 and 25-15. EKU falls to 11-16 overall this season while the Racers move to 14-15 overall. Both teams are now 9-8 in conference play.
Murray State made only 11 errors in the three sets combined for a .288 attack percentage. MSU out-blocked Eastern 8-3 and had 18 more digs than the visitors.
Ashley Nenninger and Cassy Woolverton led the Racers with 12 and 11 kills respectively. Three Racers totaled 11 or more digs, led by Kayleah Sauer’s 21.
For the Colonels,
Hannah Groudle finished with eight kills and only two errors for a .316 attack percentage to go along with two blocks. #Abby O’Connor# led the team with 18 digs.
Eastern Kentucky will close out the regular season at Tennessee-Martin on Saturday at 1 p.m.
