RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University’s softball team will play their first home games of the 2010 season against Western Kentucky University on Wednesday. The teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader at Gertrude Hood Field with the first game beginning at 3 p.m.

The Colonels record is 5-15 while Western Kentucky is currently 11-9. The Hilltoppers are scheduled to play two games on Tuesday against Eastern Illinois.

Freshman Kristin Perry’s complete game shutout led the Colonels to victory over Winston-Salem State on Saturday, ending the game with a final score of 8-0. Ashley Dollins and DeAnn Horswill both scored two runs each out of the eight total. Diane Gallagher got her 21st stolen base of the season while Cassi Gibson and Christina Datko got their second, and Nikki Bruce stole her first two bases of the 2010 season.
