RICHMOND, Ky. - The Eastern Kentucky University softball team will host its inaugural EKU Softball Pickleball Tournament on Oct. 17 at Pickleball Kingdom Lexington Commons.

The fundraising event will run from noon to 5 p.m. at 152 Turner Commons Way in Lexington. Registration is $65 per player, and participants may register with a partner or individually. All matches will be played in a doubles format, with individual registrants paired with a teammate.

Participants may compete in either the fun or competitive division.

The fun division is designed for newcomers to the sport and players looking to enjoy an afternoon of friendly competition. Participants in the division will also have an opportunity to purchase a buy-back at the event and enter a consolation bracket.

The competitive division is intended for experienced players and those seeking a higher level of competition.

A separate skills competition will also be held during the tournament, with prizes awarded to the top three finishers.
