Yeremiah Bell
RICHMOND, Ky. – Former Eastern Kentucky University defensive back Yeremiah Bell was inducted into the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame Friday at the Lexington Opera House. Bell was named to the EKU All-Century Team in 2009.

Bell, a native of Winchester, Ky., was a three-year starter and a two time All-OVC selection under legendary head coach Roy Kidd. As a junior in 2001, he was named both an Associated Press All-American and OVC Defensive Player of the Year.

In 2003, Bell was drafted to the Miami Dolphins, where he has spent the last six seasons in the NFL. He led the Dolphins in 2008 and 2009 with 120 and 114 tackles, respectively. In 2008, Bell was named to the USA Today All-Joe team, which is awarded to players and coaches that have been deemed hard workers and over-achievers. This past season, Bell was a Pro Bowl selection for the first time in his career.

Bell was joined in this year’s induction class by former Morehead State University tight end Gary Shirk (New York Giants), Paris High School graduate and long time NFL coach Bill Arnsparger (Baltimore Colts, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, San Diego Chargers), former DeSales High School standout Cris Dishman (Houston Oilers, Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings), and Louisville Western High School and University of Louisville football star Joe Jacoby (Washington Redskins).

Former Cleveland Brown and NFL legend Jim Brown was given the Blanton Collier Award for integrity on and off the field at the ceremony.
