MIAMI, Ohio. – In its first games of the fall practice season, the Eastern Kentucky softball team split a doubleheader at Miami (Ohio) on Sunday. The Redhawks won the first game 6-2 before the Colonels took the second by a score of 5-3.
In game one,
Raquel Howes went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for EKU. Freshman
Christina Ciolek had a pair of hits and a run in three at bats. Sophomore
Kristin Perry started and allowed one unearned run and two hits over four innings.
Howes was perfect in game two, going 4-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. One of her four hits was a home run. Senior Shyenne Hussey also had a home run, a three-run shot.
Eastern’s fall schedule continues when Georgetown College comes to Richmond on Oct. 7 for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
